The ACC program partners with schools and community-based organizations to implement dance, drama and visual art residencies for youth in grades K-12 that incorporate culture, art history and arts literacy into the curriculum.
A 10 week after-school residency led by Changing Worlds’ teaching artists who bring an average of 10 years of teaching and classroom management experience.
Hands on arts experiences engage youth in educational and arts-based learning.
Residencies that often utilize the stories of youths’ lives and introduce cultures as a springboard to teaching core concepts in fine arts and cultural awareness.
Residency options include puppetry, ceramics, mixed media work on paper, painting, digital photography, animation, collage, murals, theatre, creative writing, spoken word, poetry, African Dance, Samba, Mexican Ballet Folkloric Dance, Hip Hop and much more.
